What is laser therapy?

Therapeutic laser treatment uses light applied to a selected area of the body. It may be considered as an additional treatment within a broader physiotherapy plan. The expected benefit depends on the condition, treatment approach, and individual response.

Start with your goals and an assessment

Tell your physiotherapist about pain, movement limitations, relevant health conditions, medications, and previous treatments. They will explain whether laser is appropriate, discuss alternatives, and agree on goals with you.

What to expect during treatment

Your provider explains the treatment area, procedure, safety precautions, and possible responses before obtaining consent. Protective eyewear is used as required. Ask about the proposed schedule and how progress will be measured.

A supporting part of rehabilitation

Laser may be used alongside exercise, movement advice, and other treatment when appropriate. It does not replace an individualized rehabilitation plan, and improvements or a specific recovery time cannot be guaranteed.

Book your next step

For a new concern, book a physiotherapy assessment. If laser has already been recommended, call 587-449-3647 to arrange the right appointment and confirm fees, any additional charges, and benefit eligibility.
